Junior Program in Violin, Viola, Cello & Bass

Students eligible: Suzuki violinists, violists, cellists or bassists, Bks. 1–3, including adults

Daily 3-hour program includes:
  • Daily master class
  • Daily repertoire/technique class
  • Pre-reading class (Bks. 1 & 2), reading class or practice seminar*
  • Orchestra (Bk. 3)
  • Solo recital performance opportunity**

Daily Optional Classes: (you may choose up to two options)
  • Fiddling for Cellists (students Bk. 2 and up)
  • Fiddling for Violinists or Violists (students Bk. 2 and up)
  • Improvisation (Bk. 2 and up)
  • Choir 1 – tba
  • Choir 2 – tba
  • Klezmer Music (more information soon) (late Bk. 2 and up)
  • Operetta IN PERSON only

Cost: $500 CDN. Optional Classes extra

* Adult in-person students will have a reading class. Online adult students will join the practice seminar with other online students.

** Online students can choose to play “live”, with or without their own accompaniment, or to send in a video recording with or without their own accompaniment. Recorded piano tracks for some solos can be provided for an additional charge. Click here for details. More instructions for virtual recitals will be sent by Aug 1st.

For students attending virtually, it is the responsibility of the parent to assess whether or not their child is ready to participate for three hours of virtual classes daily in our core programs. SOSI takes no responsibility for technical or connectivity issues that may arise during online classes.

Body Mapping: Students, adults and teachers may also register for the evening Body Mapping Seminar and Body Mapping private lessons. Space is limited so it is first come, first served. Seminar Cost: $50

Adults not taking a SOSI program can register for a seminar using a regular student application form, choosing the seminar as their Program.
